___what is earthquake?

___In north India where earthquake happened let's see--

-A 6.8-magnitude earthquake with its epicentre in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan jolted several parts of north India including Delhi-NCR on Friday, December 20, 2019. There was no immediate report of any loss of life or property due to the quake which hit at 5:13 pm.

__why it is happened in Delhi???

Because Delhi is close to the Himalayas, which was formed by mixing of tectonic plates such as India and Eurasia. Due to the movement in these plates, areas like Delhi-NCR, Kanpur and Lucknow are the most prone to earthquakes. ... These earthquakes are coming due to fault lines present in Delhi-NCR.
